Thank You & Best Wishes Hedley

The efforts of Volunteer Driver, Hedley Akhurst, were recently recognised by Life Education Illawarra at a “Thank You” presentation and dinner on the 26th August 2015 at Figtree Bowling Club. Hedley has been a volunteer driver for over 15 years and has moved two mobile classrooms around the Illawarra since September 2000, retiring recently. An amazing effort in helping Life Education deliver its’ programs on-site at schools within the Illawarra. Local Educators commented that it is a remarkable effort that often goes unnoticed, as the mobile classrooms never fail to “magically” appear at the right school at the right time.

Hedley not only received a Certificate of Appreciation, but was also presented with gifts from Harold himself on behalf of Life Education Illawarra. Hedley also received a prestigious Gold Harold from Life Education NSW, in recognition of his contribution in helping Harold deliver his message to the children of the Illawarra. Hedley has decided it is time for a well-earned rest and is looking forward to spending more time his wife Nancy and family.
